The exhibition is made possible thanks to the generous donation made to MNFM by the Barbabosa family, represented by Mrs Bertha Naveda Reza. It consists of a set of unique pieces, among which are the steam locomotive brand Lima Loco & Match Co., manufactured in 1895, and an open passenger car, built around 1930, which were shown for the first time to the public. This donation, like many others that the Museum has received throughout its more than 30 years of existence, is an example of the importance of citizen participation in the rescue and preservation of Mexico`s railway heritage. The exhibition seeks to recognize the value of the pieces created with Decauville technology, whose first specimens arrived in Mexico 140 years ago and were used by agricultural and mining farms as part of the modernization to expedite the transfer of their production to the national rail network.
